KCPD said the call was to check well after a woman was seen walking on the western sails of the highway 152.

When KCFD emergency reactors arrived, they reported that they had taken the woman to the ambulance, but while on their way to the hospital, the woman stabbed the paramedic firefighter, later identified as Graham Hoffman, in the chest with a “fenced weapon or sharp object”.

Hoffman’s partner stopped helping the woman in custody, but was also attacked by the patient.

Both firefighters were taken to hospital, with Hoffman initially suffering injuries for life -threatening and his partner reported that they had had dangerous live injuries.

However, on Sunday around 3:00 pm the city of Kansas City released a statement confirming that he had died in the hospital from his injuries. At a press conference on Sunday afternoon, KCFD said Hoffman was stabbed in the heart.

Hoffman is 29 years old and has served with KCFD since 2022.

At that time, the suspect was in custody, KCPD said.

Early Sunday morning, Major Quinton Lucas I took the social media after the incident. He said he had spent time with the firefighter family and the KCFD crews

He also provided more details about the suspect, stating that she was identified and investigators were looking to see if there was some recent criminal history.
